The Cisco SOHO 76 Router enables service providers to deploy affordable, multiuser routers that are ideal for customers who require fast, reliable access to the Internet (see Figure 2). Unlike a DSL modem, which allows only a single PC to connect to the Internet at a time, the SOHO 76 Router allows multiple PCs to connect to the Internet simultaneously when connected to a simple hub. Network Address Translation (NAT) allows multiple users to share one DSL line with a single IP address, eliminating the need to readdress all PCs with individual network addresses.
