The Cisco CP-PWR-INJ adds 802.3af compliant Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to your existing (unused) 10/100/1000BaseT Gigabit Ethernet (or slower) runs of 100 meters or less. This device would, for example, allow you power PoE powered devices (such as IP phones) on the opposing end of the Ethernet cable exiting the device.
